Contact Kalawao County Record Offices

Official Kalawao County criminal-record requests must be routed by record type. The contacts below identify the government custodians, while also clarifying the limited role of this private reference.

This Is Not a Government Office. This privately operated resource cannot retrieve a criminal record, perform an official check, change a record, or receive an expungement application. The responsible public office must handle each of those services.

Need an Official Record?

Use the following custodian list for common Kalawao County record requests:

  • Court case files: see criminal court case records, or contact the clerk of the court that heard the case
  • Criminal records and rap sheets: contact the Hawaii Department of the Attorney General - Hawaii Criminal Justice Data Center (HCJDC)
  • Arrest and incident reports: contact MPD Records for an MPD report, DLE Sheriff Records for state-sheriff material, or NPS for a ranger record
  • Official background checks: order through the Hawaii Department of the Attorney General - Hawaii Criminal Justice Data Center (HCJDC)
  • Police reports and incident records: contact the agency that wrote the report
  • Expungement: apply through HCJDC under its current process; court-file relief is a separate question

Because Kalawao has no standard county records counter, requests often go off-county. MPD reports are handled by Maui Police Records Section, 55 Mahalani Street, Wailuku, HI 96793, 808-244-6355. Court-file requests go to Molokai District Court, 55 Makaena Street, Kaunakakai, HI 96748, 808-553-1100, or the Hoapili Hale Legal Documents Branch, 2145 Main Street, Wailuku, HI 96793, 808-244-2969, during the Judiciary's posted weekday hours.
